A WORLD WITHIN OUR WORLD
Fantasy meets reality
The work here is the result of my final HND project, which, consists of two parts: An illustrated book and a series of oil paintings.

The project's initial objective was to be inspired by my surroundings and create my own imaginary creatures. The creatures would have their own stories and symbolisms. In the end I made a larger story that encompasses all of the creatures and their stories, and gives them additional layers of depth. Each creature represents different aspects and beliefs of human society. Each story is trying to convey different perceptions and opinions of life, and ask questions that frequently plague the human mind.

The story takes place in our own world and timeline. Within this world, there is an ongoing battle between three factions. The goals of these three factions, while different from one another, are directly connected to the mythical creatures. The story's protagonist, who also serves as a narrator, is a druid. Druids are humans with an affinity for magic, and are one of the three big factions. The story is split into smaller chapters, each centered around a specific creature or faction.
PART 1 - THE BOOK

PART 2 - THE PAINTINGS
These large oil paintings depict some of the creatures in my story. Apart from their importance and meaning in the story's narrative, the paintings also work on their own, as symbolisms of aspects of human life.
