ECHOES OF REGRET

This painting depicts parts of my character in a state where I look back at my past with emotions of regret.  Each creature represents a part of my character that reacts differently to the feeling of regret.  For example, the blue one on the right represents the part of me that scolds me for my stupid past decisions.  It is the one that negatively judges every other part of my character and strangles me with self-judgment.  Thus, it is metaphorically strangling the other parts of my character with this behavior.  The large figure on the back holds a clock in its hand, representing time.  In many cases I wanted to turn back time and fix things, other times I felt like I’m running out of time.  Time is the enemy that I must befriend.  .  The landscape I used was a desert, to show that this kind of thoughts will never make one prosper and lead nowhere.  It is also on a day, to mark the beginning of a series of paintings.
